Hello!
Thank you for stopping by. I am so glad that you are here. How are things going? Good, I hope.
Spring is certainly knocking on our doorstep now. Or is it? We are still getting many chilly days here in Melbourne. My winter pruning is now complete, with my hydrangeas being the last to be pruned. I was encouraged to ‘wait’ to prune these hydrangeas until late winter to provide protection for old-wood bloomers and keep their buds safe. And, nestled above my bare hydrangeas is the most magnificent Magnolia ‘Inspiration’ (doltsopa x laevifolia) now in full bloom. It is a vigorous-growing evergreen feature tree that bursts with stunning multiple creamy white flowers, some 10cm long, at every leaf along the stems from late winter to early spring. It is a short season and so worth it because its heavy perfume engulfs our garden from the front to the back. I will take that moment of delight and joy, thank you very much.
I do hope you enjoy reading This September in our Village. We have the most wonderful month ahead.
With love,
