Riposa in Pace Nonna Giovanna Barone. Ciao! I am so glad that you are here. Come va? How are you doing? This month we bid farewell to my Nonna Giovanna Barone who lived for almost 95 years. What a wonderful life and beautiful memories that we hold in our hearts. We mourn her loss, but it is also a time to celebrate and remember. During the war, Nonna lived off the land in Vizzini, Sicilia and baked eight loaves of bread at one time in their wood fired oven to make ends meet. In Australia, Nonna worked as a machinist sewing electric blankets for the famous Linda brand which originated in the late 1940s and were renowned in Australia for their quality and longevity. Nonna was a wife to Sebastiano and mother of two children juggling life and work whilst moving to many countries around the world for a more sustainable life and the matriarch of five generations.  Watch my video tribute and make her famous Sicilian Pizza.
